Lorca, Buñuel, and Dalí attended the same college in Madrid. It was the 1920s and the young were truly young and almost everything was possible. Soon Lorca became Dalí's secret lover and muse, inspiring many of his early paintings and launching his career in the artistic circles of Barcelona and Madrid. At the same time, Dalí collaborated with Buñuel in two landmarks of experimental cinema--The Andalusian Dog and The Golden Age. This course examines the friendship between the three artists and their place in the history of twentieth-century art, film, and literature. Extra time. Prerequisite: Spanish 204 or equivalent
