CHIN 361: Advanced Chinese: Readings in Twentieth Century Literature

Students will read, discuss, and write about major literary works from twentieth century China in order to both improve their language abilities and increase their understanding of the artistic and intellectual milieu in which the works were produced. Readings will include selections from modern and contemporary Chinese literature, including poetry, fiction, novels, and letters in the original Chinese.  Prerequisite: Chinese 206 or equivalent
