This course is an introduction to wheel throwing as a primary method to construct both functional and non-functional ceramic forms. An understanding of aesthetic values and technical skills are achieved through studio practice, readings, and demonstrations. Basic glaze and clay calculations, kiln firing techniques, and some handbuilding methods will be covered.
