IP Printing for XP

  • Go to printer set up and add printer.
  • Check the "Local printer attatched to this computer" and UNCHECK "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer" like shown below.
  • Check "Create a new port" and in the "Type of port," choose "Standard TCP/IP port," like shown below.
  • Type the IP Address in the space provided. (You will get the IP address if you print a configuration sheet from the printer)
  • Install the correct printer driver.
  • Print a test page.

That will set the printer up but you are not done yet.

For some printers, you have to set up printer properties. Does the printer have extra tray and duplexing unit? After you do that, give yourself a pat! GOOD JOB GUYS!!
