Alex Evangelides ’11
A native of the Northern suburbs of Chicago (Kenilworth), Alex attended New Trier High School before graduating from Carleton in 2011 with a degree in mathematics (though he also took many courses in psychology and economics.) While at Carleton, Alex dedicated much of his time to playing Ultimate Frisbee for CUT, being a Program Director for Special Olympics, and working as a Career Advisor in the Career Center. Though never officially going abroad, he spent three months in Tanzania teaching one summer, and took a fall term off in order to backpack through South America. Alex also worked as an exterminator for a summer, and had internships with a financial planning company in Chicago, and an Apple computer forensics software start-up in Silicon Valley.
Upon graduation (and after 2 months of traveling in Iceland and Central Europe) Alex began working for Deloitte Consulting as a Business Analyst in the Strategy and Operations branch, where he still works today. Alex is based out of the Minneapolis office but works with clients across the country helping them to solve their toughest business problems such as, how to smoothly combine two very large companies post-merger or acquisition, or what should an organization’s five-year growth strategy be? There is no such thing as a typical day in consulting, but Alex spends most of his days collecting and analyzing data, creating presentations to display results, and meeting with clients to discuss findings and project status.
