One year of service changes lives. Become an AmeriCorps member today!

This full-time position is part of an innovative new project with Minnesota Reading Corps to support early literacy outcomes for student “scholars” from Kindergarten – 3rd Grade. The member in this position will be embedded in an elementary classroom and will collaborate directly with the classroom teacher to provide Minnesota Reading Corps interventions and core instruction support throughout the day in addition to after school programming.

Scholar Coaches also receive additional training to help them build positive and authentic relationships with their students, many of whom have experienced challenges outside of school that can get in the way of learning.

Scholar Coaches are trained in evidence-based intervention strategies and developmentally appropriate assessments to monitor student progress. The Scholar Coach model is cohort-based, with a team of members serving together to make a school-wide impact on student success.
