Internship Funding Information Session

Tue, February 20, 2018 • 12:05pm - 1:05pm (1h) • Leighton 402

You'll hear stories of how persistence and creativity in the internship search paid off. The panelists will share tips about where to look for internships, the application process (which sometimes doesn’t even involve an application!), and how to get internship funding.

Eavan Donovan ’19 is a Chemistry major (biochemistry minor) who spent last summer interning at the Leibniz Institute for Molecular Pharmacology in Berlin, Germany.  Using NMR, Eavan focused on analyzing the protonation characteristics of PsbO, a protein found in all photosynthesizing plants.

Apoorva Handigol ’19 is a Sociology/Anthropology major who spent last summer interning with Industrial Areas Foundation Northwest in Seattle to address health equity from a holistic perspective, including the education system. Along with three other interns, Apoorva spoke with clients about all of the stressors that influenced health outcomes.

Megan Zhao ’19 is a Computer Science major who interned with Girls Who Code last summer in the Bay Area of California. Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology. She taught basic coding and other applicable computer skills to girls in grades 6 – 12 and helped to familiarize them with the coding world.

You will hear fun stories while learning about what you can do to get started on your internship search.  This is the perfect time to learn about how to find an amazing internship!
