Fine tune your "benefit pitch", strategize the list of employers you want to talk to, take advantage of the person in line in front of you, think outside of the box for positions employers are recruiting for, and be prepared for the day (dress, resumes, interviews, etc.)

Post your Resume online:

Upload your resume in advance of the fair. Employers are reviewing resumes now and reaching out to schedule interviews in advance of the fair.  Why not increase your chance of success by heading to the fair with a pre-scheduled interview.

For more information, visit the MPCC Job Fair website and watch the videos on the right side of this page.

Students attending the Job Fair will have the opportunity to network with employers who are interested in starting and maintaining employment relationships with graduates. Employers who will be present at the event will be actively recruiting for jobs and internships.

Upload your resume and contact employers before the fair to potentially schedule a pre-arranged interview.

Quotes from past participants:

"The MN Private Colleges and Job Fair was a great opportunity to personally engage with a multitude of recruiters—all under one roof! At first, it may seem a bit overwhelming. The Convention Center is set up with many booths of different employers, lots of events and seminars, and literally a thousand St.Thomas students vying for positions. It's OK. Don't panic, take a deep breath, and have a little faith. Bring a smile and practice a strong handshake. Your entire Carleton experience has prepared you for this very moment and you're sure to do great! The Career Center is also here to help with resume building/editing, interview prep, and informational sessions geared towards the fair. It's really essential to come prepared. Research the organizations and positions present and definitely have direct, research-informed questions in mind." - Byronlyn Mappy ’18

"My junior year I went through all of the companies that would be attending and applied to the positions that interested me. So, even before attending the fair, I had several interviews already set up – which made the day much more productive than it would have been otherwise." - Anna Versen '14

"Best part of the fair was getting experience having conversations with potential employers. Learning how to listen and ask meaningful questions is huge. If you make it a natural conversation, and express genuine interest, it will go well! " - Colby Seyferth '15
