Preparation

General Preparation Information:

Here is a document that will help you prepare for the fair.

Mandatory Prep Session: Thursday, February 16th; 12pm OR 4:30pm, Leighton 304 - pizza provided
** Attendance required at one of the sessions to attend the fair **
Fine tune your "benefit pitch", strategize the list of employers you want to talk to, take advantage of the person in line in front of you, think outside of the box for positions employers are recruiting for, and be prepared for the day (dress, resumes, interviews, etc.)

For more information, visit the MPCC Job Fair website and watch the videos on the right side of this page.

Students attending the Job Fair will have the opportunity to network with employers who are interested in starting and maintaining employment relationships with graduates. Employers who will be present at the event will be actively recruiting for jobs and internships.

Upload your resume and contact employers before the fair to potentially schedule a pre-arranged interview.

Quotes from past participants:

"My junior year I went through all of the companies that would be attending and applied to the positions that interested me. So, even before attending the fair, I had several interviews already set up – which made the day much more productive than it would have been otherwise." - Anna Versen '14

"Best part of the fair was getting experience having conversations with potential employers. Learning how to listen and ask meaningful questions is huge. If you make it a natural conversation, and express genuine interest, it will go well! " - Colby Seyferth '15

"I owe my first gig to the Minnesota Private Colleges Job Fair." - Daniel Callahan ’08

"My advice to anyone going would be to keep an open mind in their thinking about what companies to talk to. There are a lot of possibilities out there." - David Niles '02
