Annual Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting

Friday, May 5 - Saturday, May 6, 2017

Carleton has secured admission for students to attend the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting on Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Omaha, Nebraska. Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, is highly regarded and recognized for his investing insights and expertise. Subsequently, this meeting has become a highly anticipated event by many professionals in numerous industry sectors.

Meetings with Carleton alumni will be scheduled on Friday, May 5. Alumni include:

  • Drew Weitz ’02, Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager, Weitz Investments, a firm established by Wally Weitz '70, P '96, '99, '02, and Carleton Board of Trustees Member.

APPLICATION PROCESS AND PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:

Carleton students of any class year are eligible to participate. To apply, submit a cover letter and resume outlining your interest in participating in this event.  In particular, please address your interest, experience, and career goals relating to the business field.

Application deadline is Tuesday, April 18, 2017.  Submit application materials via the Tunnel.

MANDATORY ORIENTATION:

An orientation meeting for students selected to participate is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 12 pm in Willis 204.

LOGISTICS:

A charter bus will depart campus for Omaha at 7:45AM on Friday, May 5th, returning to Northfield on Saturday, May 6th at approximately 10:00PM.  The college will cover travel, lodging and some meal expenses.
