Weekly Recipe: Apple Crisp

4 local apples, preferably golden delicious, sliced

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 pinch salt

1/2 cup old-fashioned oats

1/3 cup butter (softened, can be substituted with margarine)

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg


Heat oven to 375ºF. Grease bottom and sides of a suitable pan with butter.

Spread apples in pan. In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients. When mixed well, spread ingredients over apples. Make sure it is spread properly.

Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork.

Serve with cold ice cream.
