Carleton College and the CCCE are partnering with a new transportation provider for the 2016-2017 year: ECO-Trans! This company will provide the services that First Choice Shuttle has in previous years, including (most relevantly for CCCE students) the Fixed Route Education Shuttle and Engagement Rides by Request. Any problems in the field, like being stuck at a site, can be solved by the company by calling 507-301-2161.
Carls-GO! Fixed Route Education Shuttle
The Fixed Route begins on the second Monday of each term. Pick up is in front of Davis Hall and occurs on every hour and half-hour from 10AM to 6PM. The shuttle goes to Bridgewater Elementary School, Sibley Elementary School, Northfield Middle School, and Northfield High School. No reservations or transportation vouchers are required, and the only requirement is that you present your Carleton student ID to the driver.
Carls-GO! Rides by Reservation
ECO-Trans will also provide transportation for students engaging in the community through a reservation system. These reserved rides will take students to any community engagement opportunity, including community-based work study, in Northfield and Dundas. Reservations can also be made to travel to and from Fixed Route stops before 10AM and after 6PM. Reservations must be submitted one day prior to the actual ride by 8PM, and these can be made at www.carls-go.com. Also, if you have a group of 4 or more, you can schedule a recurring ride at the same website. This will also pick up in front of Davis. Again, vouchers are not required: only a student ID is needed.
Fleet Vehicle Services
- Campus vehicles are available for programs that are outside the Northfield/Dundas area and is not serviced by public transportation.
- Requests should be made as early as possible and at least 48 hours (Monday-Friday) prior to need.
- You or someone in your group must be a trained Campus Driver. View the requirements for eligible drivers and the training schedule.
- PLEASE NOTE that if you fail to pick up the keys for your reservation, a "no-show" fee will be charged to the department. The campus services office closes at 5PM and cancellations can be made right up to the time of reservation pick up with no charge. So please cancel your reservation with the campus services office (email@example.com) if you end up not needing the vehicle. Thanks!
If you are traveling with a campus vehicle, you must fill out the following waiver form prior to travel.
The following campus vehicle request form can be used if the public transportation options do not travel to your destination, or do not fall within your scheduled times. The request needs to be made at least 48 hours prior to need.
