Global Issues Forum

The Global Issues Forum (GIF) is a student-led event series giving students the opportunity to come together to discuss topics of current interest.

Usually, these are globally-focused topics where students who have special knowledge or relevant experience are willing to launch a conversation with others. Topics can be broad-ranging: we’ve had talks on educational systems around the world, terrorism in Europe and its aftermath, environmental health and sustainability in Ethiopia, and more.

GIFs are held 2-3 times per term, typically during Common Time in LDC 104. (Students may bring tray lunches from the dining hall if they are on-board.)

Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.

Interested in presenting at a Global Issues Forum (individually or as part of a panel)? Contact the GEI Program Associate, Mikaela Auerbach (mauerbach@carleton.edu) or fill out this interest form.
