Carleton Commencement, Reunion Activities Over Next Two Weekends

June 12, 2013

Carleton College will host two important annual events in the coming weeks that will have a major impact on its neighbors.

The College’s 139th Commencement will take place on Saturday, June 15, in a ceremony beginning at 9:30 a.m. on the Bald Spot, the lawn west of Hulings Hall on the Carleton campus. A celebratory picnic on the Bald Spot will follow. In the event of severe weather, commencement will be held indoors at the Recreation Center. Seating is available to accommodate all guests, whether outdoors or indoors, and no tickets are required.

Carleton’s alumni reunion activities will be held June 20-23. The event hosts nearly 2,000 Carleton alumni and features a wide variety of events. While nearly all of the events are for reunion participants only, the College invites its neighbors to enjoy the annual fireworks display, which will be held on Friday, June 21 at 10 p.m. The best views are from the Boliou patio above Lyman Lakes.

Both of the events will impact traffic and parking in the East Side neighborhood in the coming weeks. The College thanks its neighbors in advance for their understanding, patience and support.
