William C. Wilcox and Black Empowerment in Colonial South Africa

This talk will present the story of an American missionary with Northfield ties, Reverend William Cullen Wilcox, who rebelled against missionary orthodoxy to wage an epic battle for true educational, political and economic empowerment of the Zulus in the British colony of Natal, South Africa, between 1881 and 1918.
