Sonja Sokol Fürész '99
After graduating from Carleton with a BA in Art History in 1999, Sonja Sokol Fürész took a few years--including one spent teaching English at a high school in Hungary--before continuing to graduate school. Her interest in architectural history led her to pursue a Masters in Historic Preservation Planning from Cornell University. After receiving her MA in 2004, Sonja took a position as a preservation planner at BOLA Architecture + Planning in Seattle. Working at a small firm affords her the opportunity to be involved with all aspects of projects, from start to finish. She has developed local and National Register landmark nominations, historic property surveys, tax credit certification documents, building condition reports, and preservation plans for both public and private clients. Sonja also served a term on Seattle's Pioneer Square Preservation Board.
