To start the process, you will need to attend the Comps kickoff meeting during spring term of your junior year. After this meeting, you will fill out a survey to rank your preference for the comps questions provided by the faculty. All students will fill out the survey in spring, regardless of what term you are doing comps in your senior year. The Biology faculty will assign you a comps question based on the survey.
As you think about choosing a comps question, please consult the Comps Goals and Objectives, and consider how the courses you have taken will help you meet these goals and objectives. In other words, please choose questions that align well with your course background. If you have questions about whether your courses have prepared you to address a question, please consult the faculty member who submitted the question — they will be happy to help you think this through.
