CAMS 296 Project Symposium

Cecilia Cornejo and Jay Beck would like to invite you to the CAMS 295/296 WINTER SYMPOSIUM, a weekend of events featuring the work of the students enrolled in our Cinemas of Chile and Argentina courses. The events mark the culmination of the two-sequence course and we are sure that many of the projects will be of interest to you.

The Symposium is divided into two related events:

1) A WHITE SPACE EXHIBITION which opens Friday, March 3rd, at 6pm in Weitz 226 and 229. This exhibit features works by:

- Brian Gordon ~ Empire of Cines (Book project)

- Camille Sanchez ~ Another One (Photography)

- Chris Griffin ~ Tied Laces (Watercolors and book project)

- Frida Cota ~ Disconnections (Photography & poetry)

- Kayla Rudess ~ Being Jewish (VR & audio)

- Lina Fisher~ (Video diary)

- Damali Britten & Audrey Kan ~ Our Country (Video installation)

 

2) The rest of the students will offer a series of PRESENTATIONS tonight, Monday March 6th, from 7 to 9pmin the Weitz cinema. 

The presentations will be given by:

- Jillian Banner ~ Fantasma (Photography)

- Léa Gould ~ (Short video)

- Caroline Greenberg ~ Next Year, 24/7 (Short video)

- Jesse Rothbard ~ El gringo curioso (Video essay)

- Adam Weiner ~ Meaning of the Movie Theater: A Search for Third Places of Cinema in Argentina and Chile (Research presentation)
