Kahala Brands, Tastemaster and Food Scientist for brands Cold Stone Creamery and Pinkberry.

Maya Warren received her PhD in Food Science at the University of Wisconsin Madison studying how ice cream melts. Ice cream has a complicated microstructure - including air cells, ice crystals, and fat globules - that affects how 'melty' the ice cream is. Come hear about the cool science of ice cream!

Maya was also the 2015 winner, with her food science lab mate Amy DeJong, of the 25th season of the CBS reality show 'The Amazing Race'.  Maya has a great sense of adventure, and she has learned to dream big about life and her career. She is planning her own TV food show that centers on science education, ice cream, and frozen desserts from around the world.
