This lunchtime talk will discuss the work of the Mazi Archaeological Project, a regional surface survey in northwest Attica, Greece, co-directed by the speaker and carried out by an international research team including several Carleton students. The talk will describe a landscape perspective in which the focus is the long-term history of the Mazi Plain, an important regional crossroads and borderland, which experienced various booms and busts from prehistory to the present. Pizza to be provided.
