CS Tea: Featuring Professor Anna Rafferty

Thu, January 14, 2021 • 4:00pm - 4:45pm (45m) • Via Zoom

Professor Anna Rafferty will be giving a talk today about some of my research on 'Using reinforcement learning to improve educational resources.' I'll talk both about the machine learning approach we use in this work and some of the tensions between building educational resources, like online quizzes or homeworks, that are self-improving while also collecting research data to understand what helps people learn and while trying to ensure that the impact of these self-improvements is equitable across students.

Professor Grady, who was scheduled to speak today, unfortunately had to cancel. We're planning to have her speak either near the end of this term or sometime next term

CS Tea is taking place on Zoom this term. Sign up for the cs-interest mailing list to get the weekly link and join us via Zoom.
