  • Summer REU Opportunity

    Summer REU Opportunity at UNC Charlotte on Socially Relevant Computing + Making Future Communities.  Site participants will have the opportunity to explore and advance the state of the art in cyber-physical systems, security, computer vision, visualization and visual analytics, and human-computer interaction to address real-world problems with broad societal impact.  Priority deadline is February 16, 2018.

  • Horizon Fellowship

    The Horizons Fellowship is a fully-funded opportunity that supports 200 outstanding undergraduate and graduate students (of any year) in their pursuit to combine technology into their existing course of student.  The Horizons Fellowship gives Computer Science majors the ability to learn about real-world technology and build advanced software products. 

  • Computing Conference

    The University of Iowa Computing Conference will be held February 23-24, 2018.  The conference is student-run and organized, and is intended to be fun and educational event for all student interested in Computer Science.  If you register by February 14 you are assured a swag bag and t-shirt. 

  • David Barbella, '08 who is currently teaching at Earlham College in Indiana is looking for an undergraduate student outside of Earlham to work on his team this summer.  David is running an REU program in artificial intelligence and natural language understanding this summer.  Application deadline is February 23, 2018.

  • New Course Spring Term

    Josh Davis will be teaching a new course spring term called Quantum Computing. 

  • Carleton College has been invited to participate in the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST's) Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program for students majoring in science, engineering, and mathematics. This program is hosted at NIST’s Boulder, Colorado, campus and NIST's Gaithersburg, Maryland, campus.

    Applications for participation in the SURF program are accepted only from colleges or universities and not from individual students or faculty.  If you are interested you should contact Marynel Ryan Van Zee who is the Director of Student Fellowships.  The application deadline is February 12, 2018.

    Sibley School in Northfield is looking for volunteers for "Math Week" on January 24 and 25, 2018.  They are looking for Carleton students that can come and help run the Sphero robot station.  If you are interested in volunteering to contact Megan Holleran directly.
