  • Teaching Coding to Kids

    The Coding School which is a 501c3 focused on teaching K-12 student how to code is looking for volunteers.  The Coding School (TCS), a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation through computer science education, is looking for students majoring in computer science to teach coding to underrepresented middle and high school students via our online platform, codeConnects.  Click here for more information.

  • MindSumo has partnered with Wells Fargo on a campus analytics challenge.  The challenge launched on September 1 and has a prize pool of $11,000 for the top 7 winners and the company also wishes to recruit students that send in the best ideas.  Click here for more information.

  • Field Trip to Siemens

    September 15, 2017

    The German Department is sponsoring a student field trip to Siemens (Digital Grid) in Minnetonka on October 16.  The visit consists of a tour through their facilities, a demo on EMM (Energy Market Management), and a Microgrid demo.  Click here for more information.

  • The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor is holding a one-day workshop on Saturday, September 30, 2017, to help undergraduates better prepare for the graduate school application process and broden participation in computing research.  Click here for more information. 

  • Each year the Computer Science Department awards the David Pollatsek '96 Prize in Computer Science to the graduating senior or seniors who best reflect David's special strengths:  his intellectual curiosity, his creativity, his imaginative programming, his love of art, and his flair for design.  This year the department is pleased to name Caitlin Donahue, Charlie Imhoff, Emily Kampa, and Thomas Redding as the recipients of the prize.  Congratulations to Caitlin, Charlie, Emily, and Thomas!

    We are happy to announce the SDAs for next year will be:  David Goodell, Maryam Hedayati, and Micah Nacht.  SDAs are a resource for all current students to talk about courses, registration, what the major is like, and all things related to computer science.  Congratulations to our new SDAs.

  • Fellowship Opportunity
