  • Perception Lab seeks research assistants starting winter term

    The Perception Lab is seeking highly-motivated students with some experience in psychology, cognitive science, linguistics, or computer science to serve as research assistants in winter and spring terms. The goal of the lab is to model the processes by which humans perceive spoken language. We will be conducting research on how listeners use context and visual information (seeing the talker) to recognize spoken words.

    Research assistants will read and become familiar with the literature on this topic, contribute to experimental design, attend weekly lab meetings to discuss research, run participants, assist with data analysis and interpretation, and prepare posters for academic conferences or manuscripts. RAs enroll in 2-3 credits of Psych 300 with an expectation of 3-4 hours of work per week, per credit.
