The Immigrant Doctors Project: Research Activism in Practice

Wed, April 18, 2018 • 7:00pm - 8:00pm (1h) • Boliou 104

Valentin Bolotnyy, Department of Economics, Harvard University and principal figure in the Immigrant Doctor's Project, will be the guest speaker.

What role do immigrant doctors play in the American healthcare system? What are the potential consequences of immigration restrictions on healthcare? The Immigrant Doctors Project represents an attempt to inform political debates on immigration using data. Valentin Bolotnyy is a principal figure in The Project and will share its key findings and stories of the project’s impact on the immigration controversy. The talk should be of special interest to individuals concerned about immigration, the character of current public policy debates, public health in the United States, and uses of data in contemporary political discourse.
