The Educational Studies Department is proud to welcome Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings for the inaugural Hollis L. Caswell Memorial Lecture.

Dr. Ladson-Billings is a pedagogical theorist, teacher educator and Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education. Dr. Ladson-Billings is known for her work in the fields of culturally relevant pedagogy and critical race theory. Her work The Dreamkeepers: Successful Teachers of African-American Children is a significant text in the field of education.
