Tim Leunig, Chief Economic Advisor to the UK Chancellor, speaking in a private capacity.

Tim Leunig is the chief analyst and chief scientific adviser at the Department of Education in the United Kingdom and economic adviser on housing supply at the Department for Communities and Local Government. He also is an associate professor of economic history at the London School of Economics, and a fellow of the Royal Historical Society, the Royal Society of Arts and the Royal Statistical Society. He previously served as chief economist at CentreForum, a London-based education policy think tank. Leunig received his B.A., MPhil, and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oxford. His research interests include the effects of new technology on productivity in Britain, links between learning-by-doing, labor turnover and labor productivity, and the determinants of economic heights in Britain.

He is also Carleton's Ott Family Distinguished Visitor-in-Residence for Economics/History, in the Economics department in 2019-2020.
