European Studies Public Talk by Dr Nicolas Moll, Sarajevo

The European Studies Interdisciplinary program and the History department's Herbert P. Lefler speaker fund are pleased to sponsor a public talk to be presented by Dr Nicolas Moll, Sarajevo, The Critical Role of Youth in Processes of Reconciliation: Experiences from post-WWII Europe and the Balkan Conflict on Tuesday, October 10th, at 5:00 pm in Leighton 304.

Dr. Moll's talk will address issues of great interest to a wide number of students and faculty from across the campus (especially European Studies, History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology/Anthropology, International Relations, Cross Cultural Studies, French, and German), and everyone interested in the critical role of youth in conflict reconciliation between western and southeastern European societies.

Dr. Moll's key topics of interest, both in his research and in his work in the field of civil society, include:

  • the history, present situation and future development of Europe;
  • French-German relations;
  • the Western Balkans, with a special focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina;
  • the relations between Western Europe and South Eastern Europe;
  • dealing with difficult pasts and reconciliation;
  • the development of civic commitment in and for Europe;
  • issues and challenges of international and intercultural cooperation.
