Carleton students take books to Mali

5 December 2011

Students participating in the winter 2012 Mali program are taking a boxload of books with them to be given to the village school library in Nana Kenieba. The books were collected by Carleton students and faculty as part of the “French Books for African Villages” project sponsored by the French and Francophone Studies Department. Founded to promote reading in West African villages, this project also honors Cherif Keita’s father, Nambala Keita, after whom the school is named.
