On January 30 at 4pm in the Library Athenaeum Professor Fred Hagstrom, in a talk entitled "From Minidoka to Minnesota," will share his research and findings about Frank Shigemura's story, while discussing his artist's book Deeply Honored, which is currently on view in the exhibit The Colors of Confinement.
And on January 31, 4:30 pm Eric Muller, Dan K. Moore Distinguished Professor of Law in Jurisprudence and Ethics at University of North Carolina, and curator of the photography exhibit, will give a talk, with a reception to follow. (Sponsored by the Center for Global and Regional Studies)

Micki McElya of The University of Connecticut visited Carleton's American Studies and History departments on Tuesday January 23rd to deliver her talk on the history and politics of the Miss America Troupe tour of Vietnam.
Last Wednesday, January 10, was the opening for Professor Bill North's exhibit in the Perlman's Teaching Museum "Glimpses of Eternity: Icons in the Orthodox World". The opening reception included a moving performance from Capella Romana in the Kracum Performance Hall, and was catered with tasty Mediterranean treats from Bon Appétit.

George Vrtis' celebrated his new book Mining North America: An Environmental History since 1522 with a toast and lunch featuring a delicious and thematic cake by Bill North. The lunch was on Jan 11th, 2018 (12-1 pm).
