Black Faculty-Student Lunch

Mon, February 8, 2021 • 12:00pm - 1:00pm (1h) • Online

Please join the Black Faculty at Carleton on Monday, February 8 (that's Mid Term Break!) at noon for a virtual meet and greet. We recognize that some of us do not interact with as many Black students on campus as we'd like to, and we're working to change that. Bring your lunch and come learn about our disciplines and the paths that led us to Carleton!

We hope that many of you will be able to join us, so we're planning break-out rooms based on the region of the country or the world that you most identify with. We'll have a couple of conversation starters, but we don't want the discussion to be overly scripted; the Black faculty want to talk with you!

We're seeing this as a kick-off event and would like to hold many other Black faculty-student gatherings. Please come with ideas for how we might structure future events and topics you would like to discuss.

We hope to see you on Monday, February 8 at noon on Zoom; the meeting info is below. And just because a faculty member isn't listed here, it doesn't mean they're not interested in spending time with you. The timing of this particular meeting doesn't work for everyone, but there will be future opportunities.

Bereket Haileab - Geology
Eddie O'Byrn - Philosophy
