  • Bridge Chamber Music Festival: Concert II
    • The second of three concerts in Northfield's 2010 Bridge Chamber Music Festival will feature the music of Schumann and Debussey in the Carleton College Concert Hall.

  • Faculty Recital: Nicola Melville, piano
    • Faculty pianist Nicola Melville presents an eclectic program of old favorites and new works: a sparkling sonata by C.P.E. Bach, Chopin's beautiful fourth Ballade and Nocturne in B Major, Op. 62, contemporary jazz- and blues-based works by American composer Doug Opel, the evocative "The Horizon from Owhiro Bay" by New Zealand composer Gareth Farr, and Minneapolis composer Steven Rydberg's "Harp." Nicola will also be joined by Minneapolis pianist Jill Dawe in a rousing two-piano arrangement of William Bolcom's ragtime masterpiece, "The Garden of Eden."

Sunday, October 24th

  • Laudie Porter Concert I : Elinor Niemisto and Guest Artists
    • Four professional harpists, experienced teachers and performers, come together to present a wide variety of music, original and transcribed, for harp quartet. From keyboard music of the Baroque period to jazzy show tunes, South American sambas and tangos, Celtic and sacred, these harpists demonstrate the wide history and great variety of harp music that is enthusiastically enjoyed by all audiences.

  • Faculty Recital : Baroque Trio
    • Mark Krusemeyer, recorders, Janean Hall, harpsicord, Karen Madsen, violoncello. The program will feature chamber music composed between 1600 and 1850, particularly during the high Baroque. Works by composers such as Blavet, Loeillet de Gant, Mancini, Merula, and Telemann will be presented.

Thursday, May 26th

  • Guest Artist Concert: The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra
    • In this program the SPCO new Artistic Partner Thomas Zehetmair shares the stage with oboist Heinz Holliger for Elliott Carter’s Oboe Concerto. Harpist Ursula Holliger joins them for Frank Martin’s Three Dances. Zehetmair also leads two works by Haydn – Symphony No. 99 and the Emperor String Quartet, which includes a melody that appears in the German national anthem.
