Christopher U. Light Lecture and Concert: DJ Spooky: DJ Spooky

Friday, April 20th, 2012
8:00 – 9:30 pm / Concert Hall
Paul Miller (aka DJ Spooky), world famous composer, multimedia artist, deejay artist, and writer visits the Carleton campus as the 2012 Christopher Light Lecturer in Music. His two-day residency will cover his work as electronic music composer, deejay artist, and film producer, culminating in a multimedia concert with the Carleton Faculty String Quartet, led by Professor Hector Valdivia. Acclaimed by audiences everywhere, the Chicago Tribune states that “Arguably no one is more responsible for propagating and embodying the idea of the deejay as ‘artist’ than DJ Spooky, whose ambitious, elaborate, often hypnotic soundscapes have been notable as much for their eclectic imagination as for their post-modern intellectualism.”
