String Master Class: Brenda Brenner, violin

Dr. Brenda Brenner, Associate Professor of Music at Indiana University will give a Master Class in the Concert Hall. She will work with three students: Lisa Taxier - Walton Viola Concerto, 1st movement. Jonah Simonds - Ysaye Solo Sonata #5, "Dawn". Rex Buffalino - Shostakovich Violin Concerto, "Nocturne". Alternates are: Katie Koza - Katchaturian Concerto, 1st movement. Megumi Hine - Vitali Ciaccona. Before teaching at Indiana, Dr. Brenner was a member of the music faculty at Carleton College. Dr. Brenner specializes in string music education, teaching applied violin, as well as courses in violin and string pedagogy. In addition, she serves as assistant director of the acclaimed IU String Academy and the IU Retreat for Professional Violinists and Violists.
