Choral Concert

Benedict Distinguished Visiting Professor of Music, Jerry Rubino, returns to Carleton for the third time to direct the choirs for Spring term.

The Benedict Distinguished Visiting Professor of Music, Jerry Rubino, returns to Carleton for the third time to direct the choirs for Spring term. Repertoire for the Carleton Singers will include Vaughn Williams' Serenade to Music with violin solo and piano, a set of comic madrigals for spring, and American folk music. Bella Cantemus and Cantatores Exquisiti will perform a Sondheim tribute as a combined force while the women will sing contemporary settings of sacred texts and the men will explore 20th Century art songs and Schumann lieder. All of the groups will perform a set of vocal jazz with improvisation opportunities for many soloists.
