The choral and vocal music experiences at Carleton College are diverse and comprehensive, ranging from classical to cultural, traditional to experimental, and intimate to grandiose. Students in choral ensembles and in applied voice have many opportunities to perform in concerts, recitals and guest artist master classes and workshops throughout the academic year.

Victoria VargasWe are pleased to announce that mezzo-soprano VICTORIA VARGAS has accepted the position of Applied Music Instructor in Voice, effective Fall 2015.  Mrs. Vargas holds a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from the State University of New York at Fredonia.  She has performed with some of the finest opera companies in the United States including the Opera Theater of Saint Louis, Chautauqua Opera, Sarasota Opera, the Ash Lawn-Highland Opera Festival, and was a resident artist with Minnesota Opera.  Mrs. Vargas is also on the faculty at MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis.
