In Case of Emergency

In Case of Emergency

In the case of an emergency, students are instructed to contact their program director immediately. Students can also call International SOS or the Off-Campus Studies office directly for help. All phone numbers are listed on this password protected site.

In the event of a political, social, or natural emergency, Carleton and/or the program provider will be in close contact with the on-site staff who will in turn seek advice from the local authorities and the US Consulate or Embassy nearest the program location. Assistance will be managed in coordination with International SOS and the Off-Campus Studies office will communicate with parents, emergency contacts, and the media as appropriate.

If you are victimized by either sexual harassment or sexual assault, you should first seek a safe place. Talk to someone in the group or the program director for emotional support. If you are traveling independently, call one of the numbers on the password protected site or seek help from a local resource. http://www.umabroad.umn.edu/assets/files/PDFs/healthSafety/advocacyCenters.pdf. You should also access the Carleton resources on Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response (http://apps.carleton.edu/dos/sexual_misconduct/).
