Physics of Superheroes

Superheroes are one of America's great escapes from reality. They allow people of all ages to think about scenarios that don't occur in our everyday lives. Could these events occur in everyday life with known physical laws? If the laws of physics in our universe don't allow these to happen, what would need to change to make superheroes possible? This paper explores a variety of heroes and explains some of

their experiences and phenomena they witness. First, there is an exploration of Spiderman and his abilities to climb walls with Van der Waal’s force. Next, Magneto lifts the Golden Gate Bridge with the Lorentz force. Then, we analyze the ability of certain mutants' powers. Through the analysis of their powers, conclusions can be drawn to modify the laws of physics to make them possible.
