Speaker Background

Mr. Pokorney has over 30 years of experience in the conception, design, and manufacture of medical devices.  After completing a two-year professional development program at Abbott Laboratories, Jim started his career as a product engineer responsible for all facets of device manufacturing.  He then moved on to innovation, product development, and management positions at St. Jude Medical where he successfully developed a family of cardiovascular products through human study.  For the last twenty years he has worked as a product/process development consultant, leveraging his “hands on” experiences to support all phases of product development from concept development through regulatory submissions and manufacturing start-up.
