Evaluating Student Work

Workshops and Presentations

Conversations about grading and more generally evaluating student work are frequently elements of workshops and presentations on campus.

  • In addition to contacting colleagues in one's own field, the Director of the Perlman Learning and Teaching Center is a senior Carleton faculty member well versed in teaching theories and strategies as well as literature in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).  More specifically, the Director of the LTC can help identify specific approaches to evaluating student work such as creating rubrics.
  • If you are looking to talk to a colleague specifically about evaluating student writing, Carleton's Director of the Writing Program, Carol Rutz, is a great person to consult.
