Curricular and Research Support (CARS)
The Student Engagement with Academic Support (SEAS) survey prompts students to reflect on recent experiences in completing course assignments. Information collected relates to whether or not students sought help, if so from whom, times of day they worked, and the characteristics of study spaces sought.
Advisory Committee for Curricular and Research Support (CARS) 2010 Report
This report is based on a six-month study designed to identify sources, needs and prospects for curricular and research support at Carleton College. Put into a larger context, the study is intended to be an important contribution to the College’s discussions about how best to align institutional resources with work demanded of contemporary students and faculty. The report contains four sections that 1) articulate the goals of Carleton's Coordinated Support Model, 2) identify current sources of support, 3) distill four critical themes that emerged from the committee's discussions, and 4) pinpoint specific, near-term action items.
Curricular Uses of Visual Materials
During the 2008-2009 academic year, members of the Carleton community conducted a research study that explored curricular uses of visual materials. Curricular Uses of Visual Materials: A Mixed-Method Institutional Study is freely available. This study has been an important resource as the Carleton community thinks about ways of further refining curricular support at the College.
