SOLD OUT: Colleen Scallen '20 Theater Comps: 4.48 PSYCHOSIS

Thu, November 14, 2019 • 7:30pm - 8:45pm (1h 15m) • Weitz Theater

What do you offer? Do you think it's possible for a person to be born in the wrong body? How can I speak again? Do you feel nothing? How do I stop?

Sarah Kane poses these questions in 4.48 Psychosis, her avant-garde, poetic piece that interrogates identity, purpose, consequence, and need through the lens of mental illness. Using a poetic framework and specifying no characters or stage directions, Kane allows for an exploration of mental illness that is as unique and mercurial as the individuals who struggle with it. Colleen Scallen '20 presents 4.48 Psychosis November 14-16 at 7:30pm each night in the Weitz Theater.

Content Warning: Descriptions of self-harm, psychosis, suicidal ideation and attempts; dysphoria and dysmorphia; medical trauma, and psychopharmalogical symptoms.
