Does Conflict Make Policy? International Security & Women's Rights

Summer Forester will begin teaching at Carleton in fall of 2019-2020. She received her PhD at Purdue University. Her dissertation was entitled Security Threats and The Policy Agenda: Understanding Variation in Women’s Rights in the Middle East. She is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Purdue Policy Research Institute. She was awarded a Fulbright Research Fellowship in Jordan, and has written several articles and presented lectures on human security, women’s rights, policy and development in Jordan, Morocco, Kuwait, Uganda and other countries. She has taught at Purdue University and at Appalachian State University.
