July 7, 2005
By Sarah Maxwell

We are relieved to report that none of our summer off-campus study students in England and Ireland were harmed in today's bombing attacks in London.

Four students studying at the London School of Economics reported this morning that they are shaken up, but are not harmed.

One students who is interning at UBS Investment Bank in London reports on July 8: "the bomb at Liverpool street station went off a few hundred yards from our office and we were evacuated at 10:30 a.m., I am well and back at work."

Mike Hemesath, leader of Carleton's Cambridge program, reports that all 24 students in that program are fine. They have been abroad since June 17, and plan to stay until their scheduled departure date of August 20.

Greg Hewett, leader of the Ireland program, reports that the 25 students in that program are fine. They had been scheduled to visit London this weekend, and that trip will be postponed or cancelled. They have been abroad since June 11, and plan to stay until their scheduled departure date of August 20.

Any further updates will be sent via e-mail and posted at www.carleton.edu.
