Santiago, Chile’s acclaimed Dúo Mistral performs at Carleton

September 20, 2016

Acclaimed Chilean piano duo Dúo Mistral will appear Friday, Sept. 30 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Carleton College Concert Hall. The program will feature compositions by Claude Debussy, including Études and En Blanc et Noir. This event is free and open to the public.

Dúo Mistral is comprised of South American pianists Paulina Zamora and Karina Glasinovic, who are piano and chamber music professors in the music department of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile in Santiago. This exceptional duo aims to focus on developing works for four-hand piano and two pianos, performing Chilean contemporary works, and creating dialogue with the audience through music education.

Zamora and Glasinovic have established themselves as outstanding pianists with many awards such as the Universidad de Chile’s highest award to a pianist, the Premio Altazor, and the prestigious Performer's Certificate of the Eastman School of Music. Their talent has taken them to many concert halls in Chile, Peru, Colombia, and the United States.

This event is sponsored by Department of Music. For more information, including disability accommodations, call (507) 222-4475. The Carleton College Concert Hall is located on First Street, between Nevada and Winona Streets, in Northfield.
