Carleton celebrates opening of its new Kracum Performance Hall with a Gala Concert

Carleton College will celebrate the opening of its new Kracum Performance Hall on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. with a special Gala Concert presented by esteemed music faculty, including Nicola Melville, Matthew McCright, Ron Rodman, Hector, Valdivia, Laura Caviani, Gao Hong, Mark Kreitzer, and many more.

This special event, which is free and open to the public, celebrates the recent addition to the Weitz Center for Creativity, the performance hall recently added to Carleton’s renowned arts facility.

The concert program will feature a woodwind quintet comprised of Marilee Klemp, Martha Jamsa, Nina Olsen, Ann Pesavento, and Gwen Anderson; pianists Laura Caviani, Loren Fishman, Matthew McCright, and Nicola Melville; vocalists Ben Allen, Rick Penning, and Victoria Vargas; violin duo Hector Valdivia and Liz Ericksen; harpist Elinor Niemisto; cellist Tom Rosenberg; guitarist Mark Kreitzer; and pipa master Gao Hong — all showcasing the varied facets of the Carleton music program.
