Carleton College and the Theater of Public Policy, a nationally touring improv comedy group, will bring together a state legislator and leaders from Planned Parenthood and The HOPE Center for a live, unscripted conversation on April 10 about what sex education looks like today and how it could look in the future.
“Let’s Talk (and Improv!) about Sex” will be held Wednesday, April 10, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the Kracum Performance Hall at Carleton’s Weitz Center for Creativity. Participants include State Representative Todd Lippert, Planned Parenthood Clinical Programs Manager Dylan Karsten, and HOPE Center Executive Director Erica Staab. The event is free and open to the public.
This event is part of the Theater of Public Policy’s artist residency at Carleton, examining issues of public health and public policy.
The Theater of Public Policy (T2P2) began in Minneapolis in 2011 and has since grown into a nationally touring improv comedy group that has performed over 300 times across the country. Its main purpose is to “advance the understanding of complex ideas and issues by drawing on improvisational comedy.” T2P2 designs shows and experiential workshops that help audiences grapple with political questions as well as issues of ethics, social justice, inequality and diversity.
During the Carleton event, T2P2 Co-founder Tane Danger will first facilitate a panel discussion featuring Lippert, Karsten and Staab, before T2P2 improvises on the variety of challenges and opportunities of talking about issues related to sex.
