Jeff Rathermel, Director of the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and curator of the exhibition Directed: the Intersection between Book, Film, and Visual Narrative, articulates the methods shared by book and cinematic artists. Carol Donelan, associate professor of Cinema and Media Studies at Carleton, hold forth on formal and narrative devices that propel filmic and book narratives.
