The Record Show Poster Show celebrates the creative possibilities arising at the intersection between popular music and contemporary graphic design. In exchange for total creative freedom, designers from the U.S., Europe and Asia eagerly contribute graphics to advertise this bi-monthly Minneapolis convention for record collectors.

Richard Shelton and Piotr Szyhalski are long-time collaborators. Their Dolpin Oracle, an interactive computer generated character which answers "art questions" posed by the museum audience, is featured at the expanded Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.

As DJs, Shelton and Szyhalski both embrace the "culturally bizarre." Shelton presents a mix of funkadelic, early Rap and R & B, alternating with vintage sound recordings including B-movie promotional radio spots. Szyhalski, who spent his childhood in Poland, prefers more danceable tunes, from the Eastern Block rock of his past to pre-techno '80s dance music. Shelton and Szyhalski are joined at the turntable by Mick Novak, host of KFAI radio's "This Little Girl's Gone Rockin, '" and Shelton's partner in the Record Show.
