Back to the Blackboard: Weitz Center Chalk Slam

Carleton College and the Northfield community come together to bring old blackboards to life in a creative open house at the Weitz Center for Creativity, 1-4 pm, Saturday October 20.  Students, professors, mathematicians, artists, and community organizations will draw, doodle, calculate, and articulate, creating temporary compositions in honor of decades of learning with this old technology.  Enjoy drawings in the making from 1 to 3 pm; circulate and celebrate finished works from 3 – 4 pm on the second and third floors of the former Northfield Middle School.  Light refreshments and live music will sweeten the afternoon.  Supplies provided.

Walk-ins are welcome; several blackboards reserved for spontaneous efforts.

Co-sponsored by Center for Community and Civic Engagement and the Humanities Center
