Miriam O’Connor (b. 1973)

Inspired by everyday life, and deploying humor and compositional vigor, Miriam O’Connor explores themes of looking and seeing, and the relationships between viewer, photographer, and imagery. She holds a BA in photography from Dublin Institute of Technology and an MA from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire. The artist lives and works in Cork.

O’Connor has exhibited throughout Ireland and Europe, and published in leading photography magazines. O’Connor was selected for New Irish Works I and II (2013 and 2016), and commissioned to visually respond to Aarhus, Denmark, for Fresh Eyes—International Artists Rethink Aarhus (2017).
