Ambulatory Nirthfolde Information Dispensary Now Open

March 31, 2016 at 3:19 pm

Is it art or an alternative reality? Come visit Nirthfolde, a small town in a parallel universe that neatly overlaps Northfield, Minnesota.

There’s nothing quite like experiencing the marvels of Nirthfolde on foot, so to help celebrate Walk: A Festival of Walking, Art and Ideas, the Nirthfolde Visitors’ Bureau will operate the Ambulatory Nirthfolde Information Dispensary, a satellite kiosk inside the entry of the Perlman Teaching Museum to provide brochures, maps and guides for visitors interested in traversing the rich panoply of offerings available in this elusive municipality.

Nirthfolde has existed relatively unnoticed for over a century and a half. It is the mission of the Visitors’ Bureau to remedy that oversight.

Co-Directors David Lefkowitz (professor of art) and Doug Bratland (web content specialist) will be on hand to dispense information Friday, April 1 from 7-9 pm during the exhibition opening, and intermittently throughout the show’s run, from April 1 to May 1, 2016.

The Perlman Teaching Museum is located in the Weitz Center for Creativity, Third & College Streets in Northfield. For more information, including disability accommodations, call (507) 222-4342.
